This page contains download links for PuTTY release 0.81.
0.81, released on 2024-04-15, is not the latest release. See the Latest Release page for the most up-to-date release (currently 0.83).
Past releases of PuTTY are versions we thought were reasonably likely to work well, at the time they were released. However, later releases will almost always have fixed bugs and/or added new features. If you have a problem with this release, please try the latest release, to see if the problem has already been fixed.
You probably want one of these. They include versions of all the PuTTY utilities (except the new and slightly experimental Windows pterm).
(You probably want the 64-bit x86 version. The 32-bit version is only for backward compatibility with very old PCs / versions of Windows.)
At its core, is a web-based multi-format decoding and encoding toolkit. Unlike single-purpose websites that only handle Base64 or HEX, xdecoder.eu aggregates a wide range of cryptographic and encoding standards into a single, clean interface.
Imagine you’re analyzing a network protocol or a firmware update. You have a hex dump of a packet, but it’s actually a base64-encoded Protobuf message wrapped in CBOR. Manually unwrapping that is tedious. With xdecoder.eu, you just paste the hex → decode as ASCII (revealing base64) → decode base64 → decode as CBOR → inspect as Protobuf. All in seconds.
To prevent piracy, the license is hardware-locked to the user's computer. The activation process works as follows:
Learning how encoding works is easier when you have a sandbox. A student can type "Hello World," encode it into Base64, and then decode it back, reinforcing the concept of reversible transformations.
: Rewrites fuel-cut parameters to optimize stationary traction and introduce precise RPM thresholds. xdecoder.eu
In an era when tools that decode, transcode, and otherwise process media and data proliferate, xdecoder.eu positions itself as a focused service aimed at making decoding tasks approachable for a broad audience. Whether you’re a developer troubleshooting a binary format, an audio/video hobbyist trying to recover playable streams, or an organization automating format conversions, the core question is whether xdecoder.eu delivers meaningful, reliable value compared with alternatives. The answer is nuanced: xdecoder.eu shows definite promise, but there are concrete areas where users should proceed with informed expectations.
For a hobbyist or a very small shop with the technical ability to troubleshoot independently and who is comfortable with the risks, xDecoder could be a worthwhile gamble. However, for any professional business where uptime and reliability are critical, the persistent issues with security, stability, and developer communication make xDecoder a risky proposition. The money saved on the license may be quickly lost in the first instance of downtime caused by an activation error that goes unresolved for a month.
As modern vehicles morph into rolling computers, managing Engine Control Units (ECUs) requires highly specialized software. The xDecoder ecosystem provides master tuners, garage owners, and automotive technicians with automated tools to modify binary firmware files offline, clearing error codes and modifying emission systems without manual HEX editing. What is xDecoder?
The domain is associated with xDecoder , a professional automotive software suite designed for modifying Engine Control Unit (ECU) firmware. It is primarily used by automotive technicians and tuners to remove diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and deactivate specific vehicle subsystems like DPF, EGR, and AdBlue. Who should hesitate or avoid it
When a vehicle component is physically modified or deleted, the ECU triggers a Check Engine Light (CEL) and may force the car into a restricted "limp mode." xDecoder allows professionals to input specific Diagnostic Trouble Codes (e.g., P0420, P2002) and permanently disable them within the ECU's fault code mask . The vehicle's diagnostic system will no longer monitor or report that specific error. 2. Environmental System Deactivation (DPF, EGR, AdBlue/SCR)

When it works, users are very happy with it. Many reviews highlight its core strength: it is an effective, affordable, and easy-to-use tool for its intended purpose. One user on MHH Auto reported an excellent purchasing experience, stating, "Very good salesman. At 23:30p.m sent a PM regarding purchase, and at 00:30p.m License activated". This sentiment is echoed by others who praise the tool's low cost compared to professional alternatives and confirm that the developer has always been able to resolve lost license issues for them.

Because of xDecoder's popularity among entry-level automotive shops, the market contains several versions:
xDecoder typically follows a license-based model where the software is tied to the hardware ID of your PC.
