The island is sleepy, traditional, and full of elderly busybodies. Momo hates it. The local shrine, the narrow streets, the constant smell of the sea – it all feels like a prison. She spends her days in the dusty attic of her great-aunt’s old house, listening to her mother struggle to find work and staring at her father’s unfinished letter.

These three creatures—known as yōkai —are invisible to everyone except Momo. The large, gruff leader. Kawa: The arrogant, slender one. Mame: The small, impish, and often gluttonous creature.

The supporting cast includes other talented individuals such as Philece Sampler, Kanoa Goo, and Mia Sinclair Jenness, filling out the island's community. Notably, Michael Sinterniklaas, who is a prominent ADR director and voice actor, served as the ADR director for the English dub and also contributed additional voices.

After her father’s sudden death, Momo and her mother, Ikuko, leave their bustling life in Tokyo to move to the remote Japanese island of Shio. It’s on this gorgeous, sleepy island that Momo’s life takes an extraordinary turn. She soon discovers three mischievous yokai—goblin-like spirit creatures—living in the attic of her new home. These creatures, named Iwa, Kawa, and Mame, are loud, crude, and obsessed with food. They create mayhem in the tiny seaside community, and Momo is the only one who can see them.
