Marta’s Epson L3250 had been a faithful companion through two tax seasons, three school projects, and a thousand coloring pages. But one Tuesday evening, an orange light began blinking—an accusation. The printer’s display read: “Service required. Parts at end of life.”

Marta hesitated. The forums were full of warnings: “Reset without changing the pad, and ink will leak onto your desk.” “Use the wrong tool, and you’ll brick the mainboard.”

For some models, basic reset functions might be free. For the Epson L3250, many of the reset tools circulating online require a paid key to unlock the actual reset operation. Be sure to verify the tool's requirements before downloading.

Are you comfortable to clean the physical pads?

Click on the button on the right side of the screen.

Slide the box back in, replace the screw, and secure the cover. Option 2: Install an External Waste Ink Tank

Resetting the digital counter tells the printer that the pads are empty, but physically, they are still full of wet ink. If you reset the software multiple times without addressing the physical pads, ink will eventually overflow, flooding your desk and permanently damaging the printer's internal circuit boards.
